Rene A. Lambert

WOONSOCKET - Rene A. Lambert, 67, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 9, 2017. Born in Woonsocket he was a son of Marie-Marthe (Dery) Lambert of Woonsocket and the late Eugene O. "Gene" Lambert. He was a lifelong resident of the city.

Rene was a longtime member of the ARC of Northern Rhode Island (formerly RIARC) and the Homestead Group, where he participated in work and activities.

Among the many activities and interests Rene had were coloring, wrestling, music, dancing and playing his guitar. He had a blast going to the circus and celebrating the 4th of July, one of his favorite holidays. Many special memories were made with Jerry Ventre while bowling and having numerous adventures.

Rene's lasting legacy was his ability to bring a very special joy and light into the lives of his family and loved ones. No one was a stranger to Rene; everyone was a friend. He had a special love for all his sweethearts.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Roland Lambert, and his wife, Elaine, of Woonsocket; and four sisters, Suzanne Bourget and her husband, Florian, of Woonsocket, Jacqueline Tetreault of Blackstone, Madeleine Lambert of Woonsocket, and Jeannine Boutiette and her husband, Michael, of Cumberland. He was brother of the late Ernest Lambert, and brother-in-law of Linda Lambert of Woonsocket and the late Eugene Tetreault and the late Paul Laquerre. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families, including Lynn, Joe and Nicholas, with whom he resided.

His Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11 a.m. in All Saints Church, Rathbun Street, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, Visiting hours will be in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, on Monday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to Mass.
