Rita A. Couture

WOONSOCKET - Rita A. (Bergeron) Couture, 93, formerly of Woonsocket, died February 10, 2023 in The Holiday, Manville. She was the wife of the late Maurice "Moe" Couture. Born in North Smithfield, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Alice (Bachand) Bergeron.

Mrs. Couture worked as a machine operator for AT Cross, Lincoln, retiring in 1979, and previously worked for the US Rubber Shop and various local jewelry factories. She was a member of the St. Joseph's Senior Citizens and enjoyed playing BINGO.

She is survived by her daughter, Judith Poudrier and her husband, Paul, of Pascoag; her son-in-law, Julian Gallegos of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers, Henry Bergeron of West Covina, CA, Robert Bergeron of Woonsocket, and Rene Bergeron of North Smithfield; her sister, Jeannette Lemire of North Smithfield; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Linda Gallegos, and sister of the late Roland and Leo Bergeron, and Pauline Paine

A committal service will be held Friday, February17, 2023 at Noon in the chapel at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket.
