Rita R. Gallagher

CUMBERLAND - Rita R. (Plante) (Bruneau) Gallagher, 99, of Cumberland passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Hector Bruneau and the late George Thomas Gallagher.
Born in Central Falls she was the daughter of the late Ulric and Civelina (Pariseau) Plante. She resided in Cumberland for most of her life.
Mrs. Gallagher was employed at Ann & Hope in Cumberland and Puritan Aerosol in Cumberland.
Rita was a communicant of the former St. Patrick Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister for One Mendon Road in Cumberland. She was a member of the Audubon Society, the Cumberland Tenants Association and was also active in the Polling Location at One Mendon Road.
She leaves her daughter Janet Morin of Attleboro with whom she resided; her son, Wayne Gallagher (Denise) of Hinsdale, NH, her daughter, Lynne Lafond of Attleboro, her son, Robert Gallagher (Julia) of Attleboro; her eight grandchildren; her fifteen great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late James Gallagher and was predeceased by all fifteen of her brothers and sisters.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Rita's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Friday, August 3, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 7 PM. Burial will take place at a later date.
