Rita F. Ledoux

1922 - 2016

BLACKSTONE - Rita F. (Ethier) Ledoux, 93, of Blackstone, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016 at Milford Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.

She is the beloved wife of the late Bernard J. Ledoux. Born in Woonsocket on Jan. 29, 1922, she is the daughter of the late Jean Baptiste and Edouardina (Rivard) Ethier. She is the loving mother of Roger J. Ledoux and his wife, Jean of Bellingham; Maurice J. Ledoux and his wife, Candace of Battle Creek, Mich., Jacqueline M. McGann and her husband, Kenneth of Woonsocket; Madeleine M. Armstrong and her husband, John of Blackstone; and Gisele M. Miller of Burrillville.

She leaves her cherished 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She is the sister of Jeannette Parmentier of Woonsocket, RI, Anita Choiniere of Raleigh, N.C. and the late Rev. Robert D. Ethier, Antonio Ethier, John B. Ethier, Paul Ethier, Dr. Wilfred Ethier, Rosa Cournoyer and Alice Brodeur. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Rita was a long-time resident of Blackstone, formerly of Bellingham and Woonsocket, and was a graduate of St. Clare High School Class of 1940. She worked as a payroll clerk at Hebert Knitting Mills and Blackstone Dye. She was a communicant of St. Theresa Church and previously Assumption Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Ann and had served as a Past President, and was an active member of St. Blaise Church and worked at St. Blaise Bingo. Devoted to her family, Rita will be greatly missed.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Church, 630 Rathbun Street, Blackstone. Interment will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Mass. at 12:45 p.m. Visitation time from 9-9:45 a.m. at the church prior to Mass.
