Rita Sevigny Obituary
Mrs. Sevigny was a homemaker most of her life. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
She leaves two sons, Oscar P Sevigny, retired Det. Sgt. Woonsocket Police Dept., and his wife Denise (Bergeron) Sevigny of Perry, GA and Paul R. Sevigny, retired Det. Woonsocket Police Dept., and his wife Robin (Farrow) Sevigny of Woonsocket, RI; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Second Avenue. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland. Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-8 PM in the Holt Funeral Home, 510 So. Main St. www.holtfuneralhome.com

I recall Oscar and I arriving at Mrs. Sevigny's home for a fine meal. she always greeted me with a bright smile and a kind expression. Mrs. Sevigny was lovingly described as "the salt of the earth" as my Mom was also fondly described. I now understand deep meaning of those words and cherish the idea. The meals we had were always tasty and plentiful, prepared with great detail. Those patrol nights meals will be with me forever. I especially remember her pasta sauce with Hamburg it was the best I ever tasted. Now they would call it Bolognaise sauce hers was primo!
