Robert Auclair Obituary
He was the loving husband to Mary (Depointe) Auclair. Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Rudolph & Germaine (VanBever) Auclair.
Robert worked for the city of Woonsocket for 18 years as an operator. He was a resident of Burrillville for the last three months, previously living in North Smithfield for many years. He was a former Assistant Scoutmaster Troop #2 for St. John's Church, where he was very active in various church activities, and also taught confirmation classes for 11 years. He was a former Scoutmaster Troop #5 in Woonsocket, and former president of the Cumberland Beagle Club. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean veteran serving from 1949 until 1953. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Kathleen Bourdon and her husband David of Douglas Sharon Dupre of North Providence, Thomas Auclair and his wife Karin and Brian Auclair of North Smithfield, and Derek Auclair and his wife Gail of Nebraska; 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert J. Auclair, and sisters, Fabiola Auclair L'Etoile and Helen Auclair.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church, Church Street, Slatersville. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Keene-Brown Funeral Home.
