Robert Belanger

CUMBERLAND – Robert Belanger, 76, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2019, at the Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket, with his loving family by his side. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Alban and Amanda (Durand) Belanger and loving husband of Christina (Tokarski) Belanger.

Born in Woonsocket he lived there for most of his life before moving to Cumberland 20 years ago.

Bob worked at the former ACS Industries in Woonsocket for over 25 years and CVS in North Smithfield for 10 years before retiring in 2007.

Bob's priorities in life were his wife, kids and grandkids, and he was extremely loyal to them. The love he had for his wife was like no other. He enjoyed and loved his grandchildren immensely. He loved spending time them. Taking long walks with them and shopping (for junk of course). He loved walking by the water and telling them to look for the alligators wearing their tuxedos.
Bob was also very loyal to his friends and enjoyed hanging out at the coffee shop with them.

He enjoyed yard sales, flea markets and painting houses. He also enjoyed disassembling old sheds and barns and preserving the wood for future use.

He will be greatly missed and cherished by his wife Christina of 55 years; his daughter, Lori Paul and her husband Kenneth of Glocester; his son, Robert Belanger and his wife, Christine, of Wilton, Conn.; his grandchildren, Marissa and Alex Szymanski, both of Cumberland,and Hannah and Nevin Belanger, both of Wilton, Conn.; and his sister, Lucille Colerick, of Arizona. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Yvette Langevin, Doris Belanger, and Roger and Conrad Belanger.

His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 5, at 8:30 a.m. from the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in St. Joan of Arc Church, 3357 Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial will be held privately at a later date. Visitation will be held Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Road, North Smithfield.
