Robert P. Duffy

MILLVILLE - Robert P. Duffy, 83, of Grove St., Millville, MA died April 26, 2015 at home. He was the husband of Claire E. (Tessier) Duffy whom he married April 23, 1955. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Charles and Edith (Carlson) Duffy.
A Korean Conflict Army Veteran, Mr. Duffy was a 1951 graduate of Woonsocket High School and worked as an assembler of medical equipment for Harvard Apparatus, Natick, retiring in 1996. Robert was an outdoor enthusiast, a published poet and a talented and accomplished singer.
Besides his wife Claire, he is survived by three daughters: Colleen Duffy of Purcellville, VA; Patricia Duffy of Waterbury, CT; and Erin (Duffy) McCarthy and her husband Lawrence of Wrightstown, PA; a sister, Alice Esancy of Warwick; and six grandchildren: Maria (Magaldi) Drabkin, Robert and Matthew Magaldi, Cole, Katherine and Riley McCarthy. He was the brother of the late Charles Duffy, Jr.
His funeral will be held Friday, May 1, 2015 at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, 510 South Main St., Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Augustine Church, Lincoln St., Millville, MA. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Rathbun St., Woonsocket. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM.
