Robert W. Erdon

CUMBERLAND - Robert W. Erdon, 83 of Cumberland, RI, son of the late Loretta and Clifford Erdon, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2021 at The Holiday, Retirement Home in Manville, RI.

Bob was born in Central Falls, RI. He was a graduate of Providence College and taught high school Mathematics for 29 years at Cumberland High School. Bob was very active in the Roman Catholic community, even as a young boy serving as the head alter boy.

He was part of the Army Reserves for 22 years and he was a lieutenant colonel. His unit found the missiles in Cuba in the 1960's. Bob met Presidents' Kennedy and Johnson. While on active duty for two years, he served as a Photo Interpreter.
Bob was co-owner of the restaurant, Sher-Le-Mon, and was a volunteer for 25 years for the Cumberland Crime Stoppers as chairperson.

Bob was a frequent diner at his favorite restaurant, Poppy's, in Cumberland.

Bob is survived by his sister, Jacqueline T. Wright, along with many dear cousins, nieces, great nieces, a goddaughter, and many close friends. His family and close friends would like to thank the staff at The Holiday Retirement Home in Manville.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Bob's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 8 to 9:30 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the St. Ambrose Church, Albion. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Cemetery.
