Sandra Custodio Obituary

LINCOLN - Sandra Ann Custodio, 77, formerly of Lincoln, RI, passed away peacefully in her love-filled Essex, CT home on Tuesday October 24th, 2023, surrounded by her family. Sandra, the daughter of Adelbert and Cecilia (McCaffrey) Bell, was born in Pawtucket, RI and graduated from Central Falls High School in 1963. She lived most of her life in RI before moving to CT later in life to be closer to family.

Sandra is survived by Anthony Custodio Jr, her loving husband of 57 years, and their children Vickie Corbett and her husband Robert of Chester, CT, Anthony Custodio III and his wife Terri of Brighton, TN, and Pat Custodio. She also leaves behind 3 grandchildren that brought her much joy, Tazmin, McCaffrey, and Kilraen Corbett.

Sandra was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and an avid genealogist who discovered she is a descendant of Roger Williams. She was a member of Women's Aglow and attended many bible studies. She loved knitting and cross-stitching, was an avid reader, and her Christmas cookies will be missed by many.

Sandra will be celebrated at a memorial service, followed by repast, on November 19th, 2023, at 1 PM at St. John's Episcopal Church, Essex, CT.

We worked on the Barker family genealogy together, and I am pleased to know she joined DAR. We last saw each other on her and Tony's visit to San Francisco. What a joy it was to see them.

Dear Custodio family, Sandra was a lovely woman and a joy to work with as she and I compiled her application to join the Nathan Hale Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution. I am so glad I was able to help her reach that goal in her life. Our deepest sympathy and prayers go to all of you on the loss of Sandra. She is at peace. Sincerely, Sheila Weidlich
