Therese A. Bachand

1932 - 2020

WOONSOCKET - Therese A. (Poisson) Bachand 88, of Woonsocket and Naples, FL, passed away September 18, 2020 in Cape Coral, FL. She was the wife of the late Alfred J. Bachand. She was born in Woonsocket, a daughter of the late August and Anita (Poulin) Poisson.

Terry was the owner and operator of Terry's Beauty Salon in Cumberland for many years before retiring in 1994, and relocated to Naples, FL with her husband. While in Naples, Therese was very busy as she served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. William's Catholic Church. She also volunteered for Hospice of Naples and was very active in The Sapphire Lakes Community, serving as President of the Activities Committee for many years. We will always remember Mom's smile, the love she had for her family, and don't forget those chocolate chip cookies!

She is survived by her three children: Denise Pappa and her husband Buddy of W. Warwick, and Celeste Penacho and her husband Jerry of Cape Coral, FL, and Joseph Bachand of Providence; her granddaughter Emily Pappa and her sister Jeannette Lagasse of Pawtucket. She was also the sister of the late Armand Poisson.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, June 18 at 10:00 AM in St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland, RI. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Hope Hospice, https://hopehcs.org/
