Therese Fairhurst Obituary
Born in North Providence, she was the daughter of the late Theovila and Flora (Cloutier) Vaillancourt. She has resided in Cumberland for the past 43 years, previously residing in Lincoln and North Providence.
Therese Fairhurst was a ceramic teacher and judge for many years and founder of Cedarhurst Ceramics, Cumberland.
She was a communicant of the Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland.
Besides her husband she is survived by her four sons; William H. Fairhurst and his wife Caroline of Johnston; George A. Fairhurst and his wife Nancy of Berkley, MA.; Robert A. Fairhurst and his wife Lori of Riverside and James P. Fairhurst and his wife Jan of Rehoboth, MA. Three daughters; Elaine F. Pickering and her husband Richard of Johnston; Carol A. Whelan of North Providence and Mary L. Fairhurst and her wife Sandra of North Providence. One sister Claire L. Bartlett of Warwick, nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Lt. George A.Vaillancourt (US Army) and Lt. John F. Vaillancourt (Ret - NPPD).
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday at 10 AM with a prayer service at 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road Cumberland. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 PM to 8 PM. Directions/guestboook: jjduffyfuneralhome.com
