Valmore M. Leclerc

CUMBERLAND - Valmore M. Leclerc, 97, of Cumberland passed away Monday, April 6, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Lucy J. (Malenfant) Leclerc.
Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Major and Rose (Dumont) Leclerc. He was a life-long resident of Cumberland.
Val was a United States Army, World War II Era Veteran, serving in Alaska.
Mr. Leclerc was the owner of Val's Construction Inc., for many years until his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Joan of Arc Church, serving as an usher during Sunday Mass. He loved his garden, playing pool, cards and bowling, but most of all loved entertaining family and friends.
He leaves his sons, Ronald Lelclerc of Cumberland and Donald Leclerc of Woonsocket, his sister Jean Antolini of Cumberland; her seven grandchildren, Steven, Rhonda, Marco, Valmore, Angela, Bianca and Maria, and five great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late Albert Leclerc and brother of the late Normand, Albert, Terry, Irene, and Blanche.
A celebration of his life will be held Friday at 9 AM from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in the St. Joan of Arc Church, Mendon Road, Cumberland. Burial with military honors will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland, RI. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting Hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 PM.
