Violette A. Sutherland

WOONSOCKET - Violette A. (Sauvageau) Sutherland, 93, of Woonsocket, died Thursday, January 28, 2016 in Madison, Wisconsin. She was the wife of the late Omer A. Sutherland whom she married September 19, 1950. Born in Woonsocket, RI, she was the daughter of the late Eugene J. and Fabiola (Marcotte) Sauvageau.
She is survived by four daughters: Louise Sutherland of Madison, WI; Denise Sutherland Richardson of Easton, MA; Camille Hernandez and her husband David of Dade City, FL; and Gisele Sutherland and her husband Brett Thompson of Madison, WI.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Andrew, Katherine, and Jonathan Richardson; Alejandra, Peter, Nikolaos, and Michelle Hernandez; Emily and Meredith Thompson.
She is also survived by her sister Sr. Pauline Sauvageau of Berlin, NH.
Violette was the mother of the late Michele A., Michele M., and Peter O. Sutherland. She was also the sister to the late George Sauvageau, Therese Biron, and Celine Rochefort.
Interment will take place at 10AM on Saturday, May 21, 2016, in Resurrection Cemetery, West Wrentham Road, Cumberland, RI. It will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in St Antoine Chapel, 10 Rhodes Avenue, North Smithfield, RI.
