William H. "Bill" Deroy

1945 - 2023

WHITINSVILLE - William H. "Bill" Deroy, 77, of Colonial Dr., formerly of Heritage Dr. died Tues. Jan. 3, 2023 at Milford Hospital after an illness.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Lynn M. (Raymond) Deroy; his two children Jessica A. Deroy of Whitinsville and Joshua W. Deroy and his wife Joanne of Woonsocket; 4 step-grandsons Christopher Legg, Cody Legg, Connor Legg, and Joey Legg; a brother Robert Deroy and his wife Janice of Harrisville, RI; his special adopted grandkids from the Ashaway Haylee, Kaleb, Dylan, Devon, and Baylin; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.

He was predeceased by his brother Donald Deroy of Pascoag.

Born in Pascoag, RI on July 25, 1945, he was the son of Ovila and Florence (Bouley) Deroy and lived in Whitinsville 47 years.

Educated in the Burrillville public school system, Billy worked in the Packing Dept. for Bay State Abrasives in Westborough several years. Previously he worked as a Machinist at the former Whitin Machine Works 16 years. He was a longtime volunteer at the Northbridge Senior Center where he delivered Meals on Wheels and drove folks to appointments. Always social and talkative, Bill enjoyed people. He made friends wherever he went. He will be remembered as a kind, thoughtful, friendly man who will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

His Memorial Funeral Mass will be held Fri. Jan. 13, 2023 at 11 am in St. Patrick's Church, 1 Cross St., Whitinsville. Calling hours will be held on Thursday., Jan. 12 from 5-7 PM in Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville.
