William E. Roy

1932 - 2015

NORTH ATTLEBORO - William "Bill" E. Roy, 82, of North Attleboro passed away Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015 at Madonna Manor Nursing Home. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet (Wilber) Roy for 47 years until her death in 2008.
Born August 31,1932 in Pawtucket, RI, he was a son of the late Francis and Dorothy (Glancy) Roy.
Bill grew up in Pawtucket and moved to North Attleboro in 1961.
He worked at Metals Processing in Providence and later many years at Drake's Bakery in Mansfield until retiring nearly 20 years ago.
He was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church in North Attleboro and was active at the Knights of Columbus in Seekonk for many years. He also belonged to the LaFoyer Club in Pawtucket.
Bill enjoyed traveling with his wife and loved playing cards with family and friends.
He is survived by three children: Keith Roy and his wife Omaira of North Attleboro, Kristen Governo of Coventry, RI and Kara Roy and her husband Gregory Joy of Hudson, NH; Five grandchildren: Kathryn, David and Erik Governo and Ariana and Kayla Roy; Six siblings: Joan Trahan, John Roy, Thomas Roy, Edward Roy, Dorothy George and Randall Roy. He was brother of the late Robert and Paul Roy.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 10 from 4-8 p.m. in the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral will be held from the funeral home on Wednesday, March 11 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass in St. Mary's Church, 14 Park Street, North Attleboro at 10 o'clock. Burial will be held at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery & Arboretum, Attleboro Falls.
