Bonnie Sarver Obituary

With a heart as vast as the plains she loved in John Wayne movies, Bonnie Lou Sarver, affectionately known as BonLou, embarked on her final journey on September 6, 2025. Born in Monroe, Wisconsin on March 16, 1948, Bonnie made her life in Durand and Pecatonica, Illinois, places she cherished almost as much as the family she nurtured there. A thoughtful sister, a compassionate mother, a loving grandmother, and a resilient friend, Bonnie's spirit was as enduring as the Elvis Presley tunes she adored, her kindness echoing in every life she touched. Bonnie's dedication was not just reserved for her family but extended to her professional life as well. She devoted 36 years as an assembler at Amerock Corp, where her resilience and work ethic were palpable. Even after retirement, she stayed connected, gathering every month with fellow retirees. This sense of camaraderie and Bonnie's inherent love for life found another outlet in her active participation in the Red Hat Society and Card Club. Yet, it was in the kitchen where Bonnie's thoughtful nature truly shone. With every batch of Rice Krispies Treats or a lovingly prepared meal, she stirred in an extra measure of love, making each morsel a testament to her caring soul. Bonnie is survived by her children Karla (Jarrett) Dunbar, Kip (Paula) Houghton, Daniel (Kim) Sarver, and Garry Sarver; her brother William Binger and sister Betty (James) Green. She now joins her beloved husband, Roger Sarver, and her parents, William and Dora Binger, in eternal rest. Bonnie's life, a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of love, compassion, and resilience, will continue to warm the hearts of those who knew her. Graveside Ceremony to be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2025 in Durand Township Cemetery. McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel assisted the family. To celebrate Bonnie's life and keep her memory alive, we invite you to share your favorite stories, thoughts, and photos on her memorial page. These shared memories will serve as a tribute to the incredible woman Bonnie was, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Bonnie's honor to the Durand Fire Department, PO Box 185, Durand, IL 61024
