Dorothy Bass Obituary

On September 25th, 2025, Dorothy Bass (Eddie) went home to be with her Savior. She was born on October 20th, 1936, in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to Mable Eddie (Louis Cook) and Legrue Cooperwood. Dorothy grew up in Forrest City, Arkansas where she attended public school. She moved with her family to Beloit, WI in the 1960s and declared the state of Wisconsin the "prettiest place (she) had ever been" and happily made Beloit her home. Her love for the medical field drove her to apply at Premier Care where she served as a housekeeper for thirty-five years. Her friendships and her love for her patients kept her coming back long after her retirement. Dorothy loved her children and grandchildren and taught them the value of fun and gave them enough wisdom to last their whole life long. She never outgrew her love of fresh produce and was an avid supporter of the Beloit Farmer's Market. Dorothy enjoyed fine clothes, jewelry, and a warm cup of coffee. Dorothy was a wonderful Jesus follower, mother, grandmother, friend, and amateur detective. She is preceded in death by: her parents Mable and Legrue, grandparent's Jesse and Margaret Eddie, husband Alonzo Bass Sr, siblings Herman Cook, Lillie (Albert) Robinson, Chester Louis (Lou Emma) Cook, Lewis Edward Cook, Mary Lou King, Mable King, her favorite aunt Mary Tubbs, her beloved children James Jones, David Brady and Louis Bass, Shana Jones, and Acelarion" ACE" Mason.
