Gary Lee Isley

Gary Lee Isley, 59, of Rochelle, IL passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at the Loyola University Medical Center, in Maywood, IL. Gary was born May 17, 1965 in Rochelle, IL the son of Leland and Edna (Olivier) Isley. Gary graduated from RTHS in 1983 and lived most of his life in the Rochelle area. He was a heavy equipment operator for many years for Local Union 150. After his retirement, he spent much of his time in the Tampa, Florida area where he enjoyed some of his favorite activities including boating and fishing with his friends and family. Gary loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved going for golf cart rides with the grandchildren and also his beloved dog, Beretta. Gary loved his cigars. He also had a love for cooking and enjoyed making food for his family and friends. He was a big hearted man with friends in many places. Gary was always willing to give a helping hand when in need. Gary was survived by three children: Taylor (Casey) Isley of Rochelle, Makenzie Isley of Rochelle and Lane (Madlyn McNees) Isley of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren: Jaxon, Knox and Alice Isley and one baby boy on the way in June; two brothers: Rod (Karen) Alfano of Rochelle and Dana (Renee) Alfano of TN; sister, Dina (John) Bearrows of Rochelle. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debra Mayer. Memorial visitation will be held 3:00 -7:00 PM, Friday April 4, 2025 at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. The family will also have a celebration of life, May 17, 2025 (Gary's 60th Birthday) from 12:00 - 4:00 PM at the Rochelle VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be directed to the family.
