Marilyn J. McLain

Marilyn J. (Schuler) McLain, a resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away August 5, 2025 at the age of 90 with her daughter at her side. She was born on December 15, 1934, to her loving parents, George Lewis Schuler and Mildred Maxine (Hoover) Schuler in Beloit, Wisconsin. Marilyn grew up in Beloit and graduated from Beloit Memorial High School. She met the love of her life, Lawrence Bradford McLain, and together they celebrated their love and commitment to each other on their wedding day, July 10, 1954, in Beloit, Wisconsin. Marilyn was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother! Wherever Lawrence's military career took them, she put so much love and care into those around her. She and Lawrence enjoyed traveling their RV across the country for many years. They were avid RV'rs and went outside every fall for 19 years. Their summers were full of fishing in Alaska and winter were spent in the lower 48 degrees. In 2014 they moved to McKinney, Texas to be closer to their daughter and family. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Sue McLain, of Princeton, Texas; grandson, Mike McLain, and great granddaughters, Taylor and Hannah McLain of Leonard, Texas; brothers, Robert Schuler, and George Schuler, of Beloit, Wisconsin; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and friends also in Wisconsin, Alaska and Texas who will miss her and cherish her memory. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lawrence B. McLain, son, Michael B. McLain, parents, George and Mildred Schuler, sister, Jean, and brothers, Jim and Carl. A Memorial Service for Marilyn will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI, with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Inurnment will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
