Nathaniel "Joe" Walker, of Rockford departed this earthly life July 15, 2025. He was born October 13, 1935 in Prescott, Arkansas the son of Charles and Pearlie Walker. Nathaniel lived in Rockford since 1951 coming from Arkansas, with a boot and a shoe. He married the former Ella Mae Utsey March 31, 1956. Nathaniel was a supervisor by National Lock Company 30 years before retiring. He was a former member of the National Lock Union. He was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Nathaniel attended McRae High School in Prescott Arkansas. Nathaniel leaves to cherish many loving memories his wife of 69 years, Ella Mae Walker; three daughters, Sharon (Rev. Louis) Malone, Linda Walker and Brenda Walker; 6 grandchildren, Troy (Angelique), Andre, Sidney (Rashawnda) Malone, Rebecca (Rev. Justin) Francis, Tavoris (Shavonda) Walker, and Caprisha McDowell; 20 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; brother, Floyd Walker; 4 sisters, Vernita (Leotis) Watkins, Charlene (Bob) Gray, Pearl Pinkey and Lorraine Baxter; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends including god daughter Kiara Carthen. He was predeceased by his parents; two sons Michael and Tony Walker; grandson, Allen Nathaneil Walker; 2 brothers, Henry Lee and James Walker, and 2 sisters, Ruth Perteete and Vira Flemons. Services will be held 10:00a.m. Saturday July 26, 2025 at St. Luke M.B. Church 2919 19th Street. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Nathaniel Walker, I can remember many years back that him and his wife was very dedicated to picking up the Grandchildren on Saturday's,it and bringing them back. It was always a joy at seeing the car arrive, because he drove a beautiful car, and the laughter of the Grandchildren before getting. Into the car was a beautiful thing to hear. My condolences and prayers goes out to his family, and especially Linda and Brenda Walker, they were my Neighbors when I lived on Bayliss Avenue many years ago. May the Lord continue to keep his loving arms around all of the family members during their grieving. I know that Mr. Nathaniel Walker will be dearly missed. The family will be in my Prayers.
