Rev. Peter Frank Williams

Rev. Peter Frank Williams, of Rockford departed this earthly life April 22, 2025. He was born February 3, 1959 in Urbana, IL the son of Ike Sr. and Rosetta Williams. Rev. Williams lived in Rockford 12 years coming from Freeport, IL. He served as a pastor over 20 years, serving at Williams Street Church of God in Danville, Il and at The St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Freeport, IL, for 18 years. Rev. Williams was employed at United States Army Corps of Engineering Research Laboratories many years. He was a member of the Rockford Ministers Fellowship, Freeport African American Ministers United for Change, Past moderator of the Rockford and Vicinity Baptist District Association and other offices in the District; Program Chairman for the Rockford Ministers Fellowship; and many other local offices and groups. Rev. Williams served as general secretary of the Baptist General State Convention, teacher in the Congress of Christian Education and several other offices in the State Convention. General Secretary of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc. and many other offices. He was a member of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church serving as pastor over the Retention Ministry. He was know for working for the Lord anywhere he could help. Rev. Williams graduated from Urbana High School; receiving his Bachelors degree for Southern Illinois University (Carbondale) and recieved several certifications as he continued to learn. Rev. Williams leaves to cherish many loving memories; his devoted wife of 44 years, Brenda Williams; daughter Jessica (Thomas Gyeera) Williams; three sons, David (India) Williams, Robert (Ebonie) Williams and Jonathan (Karrie) Williams; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Marilyn (Michael) Carter and Carolyn (Danny) Jenkins; brother, Mark Dunn; sisters in law, Davonda and Anne Williams; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends including close friends, Rev. Louis Malone and A.W. Staten. He was predeceased by his parents; Ike Williams Sr. and Rosetta Underwood –Williams-White; two brothers, Ike Jr. and Larry Williams; and step father Jerry White. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church 2919 19th Street. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Viewing will be held Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
