Ruth Ann Boyer

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ruth Ann Boyer, age 82, on Wednesday September 10th at her home in Durand IL. Ruth Ann was born December 27th, 1942, in Hawick, MN to Fred and Helen (Ferrier) Jones. She grew up with eight older siblings: five brothers, three sisters, and her one younger sister on the family farm. The next Journey of her life started with a blind date, She married Roland on September 14th, 1963. Shortly afterwards they welcomed into the world their first child, their son Ross, then a few years later they welcomed their daughter Rhonda to the world. and together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support, for the last 62 years. A Woman of boundless Generosity, Ruth Ann dedicated herself to many things including hairdressing, running the town laundromat, sewing, and helping her husband on the farm. In her free time, she loved to garden, plant flowers, and put together puzzles with her grandchildren. Her home was a sanctuary where children gathered around the kitchen table, stories flowed, and lessons learned. Above all, Ruth Ann Cherished her family. She found joy in preparing family meals, celebrating the holidays, and preserving memories through pictures, stories and heirlooms. Her love will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her and was part of her life. She was preceded in death by her Granddaughter: Ashley Martin; Brothers: Keith, Larry, Melvin, and Charles; and sisters: Muretta and Laura. Ruth Ann is survived by her husband Roland, Brother: Don; Sisters: Margaret and Emma; Children: Ross Boyer and Rhonda (Keith) Martin; Grandchildren: Cassandra and Christina Boyer, and Ryan and Alissa Martin; Great-grandchildren; Faith and Gunner Martin. A funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Indian Grove Country Church, 6970 IL Route 75 East, Rock City, IL with Pastor Ralph Taylor officiating. Burial to be in Laona Township Cemetery, Durand Township, IL. A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service, Saturday, at the church.
