Torina Cooks-Wilson Obituary
Torina Michelle Cooks Wilson, 52, of Beloit, Wisconsin, entered into eternal rest on August 9, 2025.
The former Torina Michelle Cooks was born on Wednesday, April 4, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois, to Birdia and the late Freddie Cooks, Torina spent most of her life in Beloit, where she built a home, a family, and a community of love.
Torina graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1991. She married the love of her life, Orlando Wilson Sr. on October 4, 1996, in Beloit, Wisconsin. Orlando preceded her in death on March 18, 2025. Torina entered the marriage with her daughter, Trin-Eisha McShan, whom Orlando lovingly accepted and raised as his own. Their union was later blessed with three sons, and together they created a home filled with laughter, love, and unwavering devotion.
Torina was a charter member of Lighthouse Fellowship Church, and just a couple of Sundays ago joined Fountain of Life Total Holiness Church and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, securing her eternal home in glory.
Torina's warmth, loyalty, laugh and sense of humor touched everyone who knew her. She loved listening to Keith Sweat (her "husband" long before Lando), R. Kelly, and Lee Williams. Torina loved her family fiercely, embraced her friends as family, and stood as a pillar of strength for those around her. Torina's life was a testimony of resilience, faith, and unconditional love.
Torina will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children, Trin-Eisha McShan, Orlando Jr., Isaac, and Orlanzo Wilson; four cherished grandchildren, Ja'Quaruis, Ja'Kiyah, Ja'Liyah, and Rhonda; mother, Birdia McAlister; sister, Mikal Cooks; brother, Keith Gross; brother-in-love, Marcus Freeman; sister-in-love, Santia Lindsey; nephews, Da'Vyeon; and Kiaron; nieces, Mekhi, Ma'Raya, Da'Vaya, Rhi'Liyah, and Keaundra; aunt Lee (Ralph) Cooks; along with a host of cousins and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 29 years, four months ago, Orlando Wilson Sr.; father, Freddie Cooks; maternal grandparents, Birdia and Isaac Johnson; paternal grandparents, T.W. and Marie Cooks; aunts, Celestine (Booker T) O'Bannon, Maggie Johnson, Geraldine Brooks, Doris Cooks, and Janice Cooks; uncles, Sam Hicks, Sammie Lee, J.W., Jimmie (Bertha), and Genie Cooks.
Visitation is 9:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Fountain of Life-Tabernacle Holiness Church, 1600 Huebbe Parkway, Beloit, Wisconsin 53511with Elder Lawrence Hoskins officiating.
