Albert Dowell Obituary

Albert Jerome "A.J." Dowell, 87, of Terre Haute, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. He was born to James Dowell and Mary (Klain) Dowell on August 8, 1938 in Terre Haute. A.J. was a graduate of Schulte High School and later graduated from Indiana State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. He was an avid Notre Dame Fan and enjoyed keeping up with their sporting events. A.J. married the love of his life, Phyllis (Whitkanack) Dowell on October 1, 1966. A.J. is survived by his loving wife; nieces Jane Moss, Sue Slack, and Cindy Fields; nephews John Dowell, Terry Dowell, Doug Sanquenetti, and Troy Miller. A.J. is preceded in death by both of his parents; siblings James (Barbara), Joseph (Lucille), William (Lois), Marcella (Wilbur), Patricia (Dale); nieces Jo Ann Smith and Jan Dowell; nephews James Dowell, Robert Dowell, Pat Dowell, and Mike Dowell. A private entombment is to take place at Calvary Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to DeBaun Funeral Home. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Albert Jerome (A.J.)
