David Hoopingarner Obituary

David Lee Hoopingarner, 66, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. He was born on May 20, 1959 to Howard James Hoopingarner, Sr. and Reta Francis (Yates) Hoopingarner in Terre Haute. David proudly served in the United States Air Force and also worked as a heavy equipment operator. He married the love of his life, Natalie (Merlin) Hoopingarner on November 3, 1982. In his free time, David loved to watch football, especially the Indianapolis Colts. He was very interested in construction equipment, with Caterpillar being his favorite construction company. David is survived by his loving wife; sons David Lee Hoopingarner II and Jesse Allen Lewis; daughter Erin Elise Hoopingarner (Jacob Edward Hope); brothers Dorn Hoopingarner (Sherri) and Howard James Hoopingarner (Betty); sister Deann Frances Gotz (Ken); many nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Ushi.
