Floyd F. Traylor Whitfield

Floyd Francis Traylor Whitfield was born January 19, 1946, in Lee County, MS on the Blackmon's Place to the union of William Henry and Ozella Traylor. Floyd was the youngest of nine siblings, so everyone spoiled her with love. She departed this life on May 8, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice. She was one of the nicest people you could meet; always smiling and willing to help anybody. She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined New Zion M.B. Church in Plantersville, MS and later in life she joined New Bethel M.B. Church under the leadership of Pastor Lewis McGee. On May 4, 1964, she married Clifford Whitfield. To this union two children were born, Willie Clifford and Patrick Bernard. She loved her family, her grandchildren, but her pride and joy were her sons. She was a hard worker. She worked and provided for her family until the very end. She loved to cook and "could". Quartet singing was another love of hers. Also, she loved basketball and softball and was good in both. She leaved to mourn her legacy, sons Willie Clifford and Patrick Bernard both of Tupelo, MS by way of Plantersville, MS; her grandchildren: Rayshon, Britney, Amyia, Bryson, Patrick Jr., JaQuante, and America; several nieces and nephews; her great grandchildren; special friend Cassandra Everett; and a young lady she raised from three weeks old Payton "Wilburn" Whitfield; two sisters-in-law, Sally Traylor of Milwaukee, WI and Eppie Lee Whitfield of Verona; and a brother-in-law William Joe Bill Whitfield of Peru, IN.
