SALTILLO - Sandra "Sandy" Kaye Box Putman left her earthly home to meet Jesus on Monday, February 10, 2025 at NMMC in Tupelo. She was born December 10, 1947, to Herman and Earline Davis Box.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, February 11, from 4 PM-6:30 PM, at Holland Funeral Directors in Tupelo, and the funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Auburn Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Henry and Bro. Jim Yates officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 10 AM until service time. The internment will follow at Crepe Creek Baptist Church in Stewart, Mississippi in Choctaw Co. but there will be no graveside service.
During Sandy's working career, she was a member of the Mississippi State Alumni Division, an administrative assistant for two attorneys, administrative assistant for Property & Casualty Homeowners Insurance Company, as well as an administrative assistant for the CEO of GLMC Medical Center and an administrative assistant for the Human Resource Department.
Sandy enjoyed her family and also teaching her grandchildren Bible stories. She had a passion for music and played the piano for multiple churches and nursing homes. Sandy also wrote over 20 gospel songs. Sandy's life involved her career, attending Bible Studies, and teaching various Sunday school classes. She enjoyed her flower ministry and bookmark ministry to share with others. Sandy was an encouragement to her family, friends and many others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Putman, and infant daughter, Carla Cassandra Putman. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Earline Box; and her brothers, Billy Joe Box and Bobby Ted Box.
Sandy is survived by one son, Scott (Lindsey) Putman, and one daughter, Candice (Mitch) Taylor; four grandchildren, Ali Grace Putman, Jake, Josh, and Jonathan Taylor, and three step-grandchildren, Sydney, Preston and Bella Claire Young. She is also survived by her siblings, Anthony Box, Larry Box, Freida Jones, Patsy Reed, and Debbie Gammill.
