Debbie Jean Robinson

DEBORAH JEAN McCORMICK ROBINSON HOLMES 69 of St. Albans, WV went home to be with our Heavenly Father on May 29, 2024 after a long illness. She was born February 20, 1955 in South Charleston, WV to Pauline E. Tackett-McCormick and Billy Keith McCormick. She was raised in the Baptist faith and baptized in Coal River out by Lower Falls Baptist Church in St. Albans, WV.
She was a 1972 Graduate of St. Albans High School. She was a homemaker, till her daughter was graduating and her son was in Junior High School, then she went to West Virginia State College where she studied in the social work field. She worked for over 30 years in the Mental Health Field. Where she was also an advocate for clients at D.E.A.F. Inc., Rescare, and Prestera. She also worked as a private home heath caregiver.
She was a wonderful and caring Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was affectionately known as "Granny". She was a very dear and true friend to many. She was full of wisdom and told you just like it was, never sugarcoating what she had to say. She truly is leaving behind a legacy of what true kindness and strength really is and that is a virtue that only special people possess.
Debbie is survived by her daughter Mischelle "Missy" E. Washington of St. Albans; and son Chad D. Robinson of St. Albans. She is also survived by four grandchildren Dakotah "Cody" Robinson of St. Albans; Makayla "KK" Robinson of Charleston; Akyme S. Stevens of Minnesota; and Jayonna "NaNa" Washington of St. Albans and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother William Keith McCormick of St. Albans and preceded in death by her mother Pauline E. Tackett-McCormick, father Billy Keith McCormick, sisters Judith Ann McCormick and Diana Sue McCormick. And a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church located at 7015 Kanawha Street, St. Albans, WV 25177. Reverend Shelly A. Bausley will be officiating.
