Grace Chirico Gosselin

GRACE CHIRICO GOSSELIN, 83, of Barboursville, WV passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025.
Born in Logan, WV, Grace was the only child of the late Leno and Elizabeth Chirico. After earning her undergraduate degree in secondary education from Marshall University, Grace taught at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Charleston, WV and Hahnville High School in Boutte, LA. Later, she went on to earn a master's degree in counselling from Nicholls State University in Thibodeaux, LA.
In 1966, she wed her husband of 59 years, Donald Gosselin, and together they raised two sons, Paul and Greg.
Grace had a variety of interests. A nature lover, she was a member of the Kanawha Trail Club in Charleston. She was also a lover of the arts, writing poetry as a member of the Guyandotte Poets in Huntington and attending performances of the Marshall Artists Series. Her fascination with her Italian American ancestry led to endless hours of researching and tracing her family roots back to Calabria and Sicily, Italy.
A devout Roman-Catholic, Grace was a member of two parishes: Our Lady of Fatima and St. Joseph. In addition, she was a member of the Serra Club of Charleston, an organization that encourages vocations to the priesthood.
Grace is survived by her husband, Donald; her sons, Paul (Susan) and Greg; grandsons, Benjamin and Jonathan; and her many loving and supportive cousins.
Visitation will be at Chapman's Mortuary on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 2 until 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, August 11 2025 beginning at 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV at 2 p.m., Monday.
While Grace loved flowers and they will be appreciated, as an alternative, the family suggests donating to the West Virginia Institute for Spirituality (wvis.org), the Christian Appalachian Project (christianapp.org) or a charity of your choice.
