HAROLD DENNIS FEAGANS
It breaks my heart to share that my husband of 34 years, best friend and soulmate tragically passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Cause of death was an accidental drowning in the Middle Fork River in Upshur County. It bordered on the family camp that he dearly loved.
Dennis was the only son of Harold and Anna Marie Feagans. He grew up in Weston, WV, attending local schools until he attended Glenville State College. From there he graduated from Alderson Broadus College earning a bachelor's degree as Physician Assistant. He then went into the US Airforce based in California to enter a pilot program for PA's. From there he moved to Charleston, WV where he was employed as a surgical PA for 30 plus years at CAMC.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Doris, his children Tim, Laura and David, grandchildren Jonathan, Julia, Cameron, Isaac, Josiah and Japheth, great-granddaughter Juno. He is also survived by his sisters, Suzanne and Margaret. He loved them all dearly and held them close to his heart. Left behind also are fur babies Willow, Ivy, Weston and Sam.
He enjoyed a long career at Women & Children's Hospital. He was loved immensely by his co-workers, physicians and patients. I don't know if he truly knew how much he was loved. Always comforting adult patients before surgery and especially small children. He alleviated their fear and anxiety by his quick wit, smiles, playing games with the children, using puppets, costumes and juggling. They appreciated as everyone did his laid back spirit, his laugh and his jokes that never ended.
Dennis had given his heart to the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was baptized by immersion. He loved Jesus and leaned on Him through life's struggles. Dennis was a member of Living Hope Church in Cross Lanes, WV. He was loved, held and supported by all of our church body.
We had gone to the camp that weekend to do maintenance and to enjoy swimming with our dogs in the river. That was the last thing to do before heading home.
A special thanks to Brooks and Linda Harris who comforted me as events unfolded and cared for ourdogs through this. Thanks to all of the many EMS responders who worked feverishly to save him. Kourtney, I thank you for praying with me and Dennis, helping me to let go and say goodbye to him. What a wonderful ED nurse! Her love and compassion shown threw brightly.
Dennis wishes were to be cremated with his remains scattered at camp. A celebration of life will be held at Living Hope Church on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1 p.m. Doors to the church will be opened at 12:30 p.m. Pastor Ryan Fulmer will officiate the service.
Dennis, until I can see what you can see now, I will continue to love you, and cherish our memories. I will miss you terribly.
