Such an incredible man and amazing Veterinarian. I've had the pleasure of working for him at his farm in Calhoun county. Never a dull moment when he was around. Very educated and. Great teacher he loved to share his knowledge with whomever. He will be missed greatly

Joe took care of my father’s cattle in his capacity as a veterinarian. He had a great sense of humor, and pulled a trick or two on me when we were working the cattle. He always like to show up to work the cattle about lunchtime. My mom always made him cube steak, mashed potatoes, and gravy and green beans. He will be sorely missed. my condolences to the family.

I was part of the "no-nothing back-to-the-lander" movement. Dr. Cain was always kind and patient with our animals and ourselves. He was a great asset to the community and will be missed.

It has been difficult to wrap my head around Joe's 60 years as a vet. My visits with him recognizing what a hard working man he was as a farmer and vet. On my last visit, I recall his memorable quote, "I like the smell of cow manue." He was a great historian . God rest his soul. Bob Weaver
