Julia Carrier Obituary

JULIA LEA CARRIER, a loving mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on October 17th, 2025, after courageously battling health challenges for many years.
Julia's life was a testament to strength, love, and resilience. She faced every hardship including the loss of her beloved husband, Jeffrey D. Carrier with grace and determination. Her unwavering spirit and quiet courage inspired everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother to Kendra (husband Brandon) Burton and Brannon (husband Bruno) Carrier. Julia was a guiding light who led by example and never stopped believing in her children. She was not only their mom but also their mentor, encourager, and best friend.
Julia found joy in life's simple pleasures watching HGTV, spending time with her grandchildren Brody, Laney, and Brinkley, doting on her "grand-dogs," and sharing laughter and memories with friends. She had a gift for making everyone feel loved, and her warmth could brighten any room.
Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey D. Carrier; her parents, James and Joan Mangus; and her grandmother, Marcella Tufts.
She is survived by her sister Janice (husband Harold) Vincell of Jacksonville, Florida, and their nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. Julia also leaves behind extended family and dear friends in West Virginia, including nieces and nephews from Jeff's side of the family, with whom she shared many cherished memories.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public service. A private family gathering will be held to honor her life. Those wishing to attend her celebration of life may reach out to the family directly or contact Cooke Funeral Home for details.

Yesterday

Julia was my nurse at Dr. Lewis´s office I was with her 42 years. We started at the same time and had girls about the same time. I loved Julia! She was always there when I needed a question answered. We had lots of great memories together. She knew how to get the patients to feel more at ease. I always told her she was my favorite and will always be my favorite. My heart broke when I found out she had to go on dialysis and now her death. I´m praying for all her kids she loved so much and those special grandchildren we talked about each other´s. May she rest in peace now and we will meet again.

As she referred to me!

Julia and I (and Jeff) started working in renal together back at McMillan Hospital. We worked together many places and in many different roles over the years. She was a wonderful, sweet and funny co-worker and friend. She will be missed by all.
