PHYLLIS PARSONS (PHILLIPS) 96 of Saint Albans is now in the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was welcomed to Heaven on April 18, 2025.
Phyllis was born in January 1929, at home, in Pine Grove, WV. She was the youngest child of George and Rosa White Phillips.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years Robert C. Parsons; her parents George Elmer and Rosetta Belle Phillips; her daughter Junetta Plumley; sisters Mary Roberts (Joe), Mable Delaney (Sherald), Edith Long (Oscar); brother Ralph Phillips (Betty), infant brothers Camden and Clarence.
She is survived by daughters Juretta Carte, Junora Facemyer (Steve), Joyce Brooks and Jill Patterson (Stanley); grandchildren Chad Plumley (Melody), Chris Plumley (Teresa), Stephen Facemyer, Darren Carte (Kay), Jamie Facemyer Collins and Brady Patterson; great-grandchildren Trevin, Maizie (Seth), Jaden, Sage, Makenna, Miley, Ava, Trentin and Jackson.
Phyllis graduated in 1946 from Pine Grove High School. She worked at the lunch counter in a small grocery store where she met her future husband Bob. They married in May 1947 and moved to Saint Albans where she was a home maker, raising 5 girls. She was volunteered yearly to be homeroom mother at Parkway Elementary for the 18 years her girls attended. Phyllis worked as a poling clerk in the City, State and National Elections until she was 91 years young. She was a wonderful grandma babysitter and school activity driver for her grandchildren.
She was a wonderful mother who raised her children in a Christian home and along with her husband, lived their faith. She was an active member of Highlawn Baptist Church in Saint Albans since 1951. She enjoyed working in the nursery and as part of the Kitchen Crew. Her "powdered sugar pound cake" and "chocolate/peanut butter fudge" was always requested and enjoyed by all. Phyllis always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She loved to quilt, make Christmas ornaments and decorate her home for every season. She loved sunbathing in the hot summer months and their family beach trips to Lakewood Family Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC. Phyllis will be missed by all and we look forward to the day we are reunited with her in Heaven.
