ROSEMARY "ROSE" ZITZELSBERGER FINCH, 86, of Teays Valley, made her heavenly arrival on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, with her beloved husband and children by her side, after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Born on January 23, 1937, to William and Mary Zitzelsberger of Poca, WV., Rosemary was a graduate of Nitro High School Class of 1955. On March 29, 1958, Rosemary married Ellis Finch at Christ the King Rectory in Dunbar, WV. Rose and Ellis went on to have two children, Jeffrey and Jon "Chipper" Finch and built on the foundations of faith and family, spent the next 65 years together cultivating a love for the ages. A love and commitment to each other many aspire for and was so often admired by those around them. Her children would become her world, and she exemplified the meaning of being a mother. Wherever her children were, so was she. Volunteering in their classrooms, attending countless sports events, and always ensuring they knew they were loved endlessly and absolutely. She spent her professional career working for Monsanto, the City of Nitro, and Dunbar Building Products but her true passion was always her family. Having everyone at the same dinner table for Thanksgiving and Christmas mattered most. The love she projected onto the world and her family was palpable and evident to all. God would eventually bless her with the gift of grandchildren and her most coveted role as Granny. A role she thrived in, her grandchildren continued to give her life meaning and purpose, attending their engagements, being present for their life accomplishments. She surrounded them with her unwavering love and support, and never letting them depart without the warmest of embraces known affectionately as "Granny Hugs."
Rose was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church where she grew her spirit in faith, fellowship and love for her savior, Jesus Christ. Her commitment to her Lord, the church, and attending Mass every Sunday was a priority in her life.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her birth parents William and Mary Zitzelsberger; Siblings, William "Bill" Zitzelsberger & Ruth Duppee.
