Alfred Wykle Obituary
Alfred O. Wykle, 80, of Hinton, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at his beloved family farm.
Born in Ronceverte, WV he was the son of the late Roscoe Jackson and Stella Mae Erskine Wykle.
Alfred was a 1962 graduate of Talcott High School. Upon graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division for three years. Alfred was a self-employed carpenter and brick mason for many years in Summers County. He was also the former manager of Willowwood Country Club and Golf Course the last 15 years he was able to work. He was saved and baptized as a young man and was of the Baptist faith.
He loved spending time with his family and friends at the farm. In the eyes of his grandchildren, their PaPa Alfred could fix, build, and grow anything. Although our hearts are aching with grief, we feel so blessed to have countless memories with him. He was an avid Mountaineer fan but his greatest joy in life was his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughters whom he loved dearly and was so proud of.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Wallace, Paul, Elmer and Tom Wykle.
