David Clayton Jones

David Clayton Jones, 72, of Meadow Bridge went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at Raleigh General Hospital. He was born on April 2, 1953, in Meadow Bridge, to the late Frank James Jones, Sr. and Katie Virginia Whaley Jones.

David was a very kind, gentle, and social person. He enjoyed interacting with people and being around them. David especially enjoyed Civil War history. He loved going to the Meadow Bridge Community Center during the meal program daily. David was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Frank Jones, Jr.

Those left with the memories and loving thoughts of David are his sister Sandra Jones, brother Douglas Eugene Jones and wife Belva, and an "adopted" brother and sister Bill and Lisa Trout.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville at 11:00am.

The family greatly appreciates all of David's friends, especially those at the Meadow Bridge Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, David's family would appreciate donations to help with expenses made to Smathers Funeral Chapel.
