Candida Hope "DoBug" Williams

Candida Hope "DoBug" (Brown) Williams, 38, of Rainelle, tragically left this world on January 29, 2026, after an unexpected medical emergency. She was born on May 23, 1987, in Ronceverte to Peggy Minear and the late Walter Brown.

Hope was a 2005 graduate of Greenbrier West High School. She was a caring and compassionate wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She worked in the service industry most of her life, most recently at the Rainelle Deli & Marketplace with her best friends. No matter how infuriating or sad the situation was, she always knew how to make you laugh.

Even when life threw her a curve ball, she was always smiling and could break out in a song at any moment. She loved Batman, Harry Potter, and reading. She also enjoyed giving homemade gifts to those she loved. More than anything, she always did more for others than herself.

In addition to her father, Hope is most recently preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by her sweet angel baby, Arya, her nephew Denard Bankston, and her grandma Lois Minear.

Those left to cherish the memories and mourn the loss the hardest are her husband Buford (Tony); children Odin and Octavia; mother Peggy Minear; sisters Carol Sue Bankston (Denard), Heather Wilson (Tim), and Crystal Haws (Cliff); brothers Clinton Brown (Kristy), AJ Crookshanks, and Christopher Minear; nieces Clare Kristen Carson, Tania Powell, Cheyenne Brown, Makyra Bankston, Keyandra Bankston, Ambrianna Randolph; nephews Kameron Pack, Reid Haws, Korvin Brown, Kilian Brown; in-laws Debbie and Phillip Williams; and many other family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 10th, 2026, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, at 1:00pm with Pastor Kermit Hunter officiating. The family will receive friends and neighbors from 12:00pm until the time of the service. Interment will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville.

In lieu of flowers, any donation to help cover the unforeseen expenses of the service, loss of income, and care for her children is much appreciated by Hope's family. Donations may be made at City National Bank in the name of Hope Williams, Rainelle Deli & Marketplace, or Smathers Funeral Chapel.
