Eugene Harmon Obituary

Eugene Leslie Harmon, Jr., 38, of Bellwood, passed away Monday, September 29, 2025, after a fatal car crash. He was born on July 9, 1987, in Ronceverte to Patty Groves and the late Eugene Leslie Harmon, Sr. He worked as a correctional officer at Anthony Correctional Center, a coal truck driver, and a technician for Hughes Net. Eugene loved playing video games and was a "MacGyver" when it came to electronics. He was baptized at Sewell Valley Baptist Church at Bellwood by Pastor George Sanford. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mildred and Basil Martin, paternal grandparents Mary and Gillispie Harmon, stepfather Dwight Groves, and aunts Mary Redden and Bonnie Hunter. Those left to remember his memories and love are his mother Patty of Bellwood, son Braxton Fox of Meadow Bridge, brother Eric Martin of Rupert, stepsister Brittany Adams, and stepfather, Lucky Martin. A viewing will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle. Interment will follow at the McElhenny Community Church Cemetery, Grassy Meadows. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Smathers Funeral Chapel to help with expenses.
