Iva Leah Barker

Marion, VA Iva Leah Farmer Barker, age 85, passed away peacefully at her home in Marion, VA, on Sunday, October 26, 2025. She was born in Volney, VA, on February 21, 1940, to the late James and Ola Farmer. Iva worked for many years as a seamstress with Buster Brown in both Marion and Chilhowie, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Barker; sisters, Helen Irene Reedy-Lunsford and Evelyn Kay Farmer; and brother, James Breece Farmer. Survivors include her brother, Ted O'Dell Farmer; son, Richard Allen Barker; daughter, Debra Barker BeVille and husband Michael; two grandsons, Alexander Forrest BeVille and wife Chelsea, and Adam Keelan BeVille; and one great-grandson, Bailey Barker BeVille. Iva adored her grandchildren and cherished visiting them in Barboursville, as well as the weeks they spent with her each summer. She was an avid reader who enjoyed traveling with her husband to visit family, attend ball games, and make trips to Nashville. She loved cooking for her friends and family, always bringing warmth and care to every meal. After her husband's passing, Iva continued her love of adventure-traveling to New York City to see the Twin Towers, to Cleveland to visit the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and to Washington, D.C. to see the National Zoo and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Rose Lawn Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com.
