Roger Dale Tucker

CHILHOWIE, VA Roger Dale Tucker, age 81, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at his home in Chilhowie, VA. Roger was born in Smyth County, VA, to the late Marie Tucker. He was a strong-willed yet kind-hearted man, often described as a true gentle giant. Known for his hardworking nature and generous spirit, Roger never hesitated to lend a helping hand to others. His career began caring for cemeteries when they were under the Moore family's ownership, and he faithfully continued at Mt. Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, where he was proudly working into his 35th year. In addition, he owned and operated a monument company for many years, serving families with compassion and dedication. Those who knew Roger will remember his unwavering loyalty to Ford trucks, his vehicle of choice throughout life, as well as his strong support for President Donald Trump. He cherished trips to Pigeon Forge with his family, creating many treasured memories together. Roger's candid nature, coupled with his warm and loving spirit, will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. He is survived by his sister Phyllis (Ralph) Hall; niece Sherry (Carel) Martin; nephews Brian Hall and David (Amy) Hall; great nieces and nephews Jarred O'Dell, Autumn Hall, Zachary Hall, Conner (Heather) Hall, and Tucker Hall; aunt Dorothy Mathena; special companion Sue Little; and many friends to include special friends Ray Heath, Allen Blevins, Joe Roland, Dee Smith, and Duane Greer. Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00PM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Eller officiating.
