Remembering Samuel Ryan Garner A Life of Strength and Kindness Samuel Ryan Garner, 44, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away on September 7, 2025, after a brave fight with cancer. He was born on August 17, 1981, in Beckley, WV, to Earl Roscoe Weeks and the late Roxanne Laws. Sam worked as a personal trainer and loved spending time at the gym. He enjoyed weightlifting, cars and trucks, playing pool, and being with his family. He was known for helping others and always encouraging those around him. He was baptized by his sister, June 21, 2025. He is survived by his wife, Carmen Garner; children, Brianna Nichole Reed, Braden and Alyssa Rogers, and Arthur Franklin Leon Garner; and sisters, Elizabeth Ann McDowell, Kelly Dawn Garner, and Billie Laws, as well as three nieces, Naveah Laws, Alexis Hancock and Chaunte' McDowell, two nephews, Anthony Hancock and Colton Weeks. Sam was also preceded in death by his mother, his granny Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Donnell, his uncle Leon Beecher Garner, his aunt Ann Catherine "Toni" Weeks, his brother William Earl Weeks, and his stepmother Sheryl Weeks. Sam will be remembered for his kindness, love for his family, and his strength throughout his life. He touched many people and will be greatly missed. The family will hold a memorial service later.
