Shields Leonard Meadows

Shields Leonard Meadows, age 79, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025 at his home. He was born in Buchanan County and was the son of the late Brightwell Garfield and Edna Meadows. He had made his home in the Jewell Ridge area most of his life and was a retired coal miner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Meadows. Survivors are: His Wife of 54 years, Daisy Naomi Mitchell Meadows Sisters: Wanda Sue Clifton and husband, Leland of Wardell, Virginia Wilma Jean Mitchell of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Brother, Ernest Meadows of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Graveside services for Shields Meadows will be conducted on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at 2pm at the Mitchell Family Cemetery on Hunting Hills Road near Jewell Ridge, Virginia, with the Rev. Ronnie Sparks officiating. Burial will follow. Pallbearers will be: Brian Yates, Anthony Price, Max Stiltner, Jody Meadows, Scotty Meadows, and Adam Mitchell.
