Wilbur Swallow Obituary

Chilhowie, VA Wilbur James Swallow, age 86, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN. Mr. Swallow was born in Annapolis, MD, to the late Raymond James Swallow and Doretha Rae Swallow, and was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; sisters, Ethel and Jean; and his beloved dog, Candy. Mr. Swallow proudly served in the U.S. Army and later retired from Giant Foods. He was a devout Christian man who truly believed in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved sharing his faith with others. He was a faithful member of Connect Church. Survivors include his daughters, whom he truly loved, Robin Lynn Snyder and Shelia J. Shaffer; son, James Keeney; sister, Shirley Webber; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; his special friend and pastor, Mark Totten; and his church family at Connect Church. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Mark Totten officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1–2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in South Fork Cemetery with full military honors being rendered by the Francis Marion VFW Post 4667 and the US Army Honor Guard. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home is serving the Swallow family.
