Wilma Eads

YADKINVILLE- Mrs. Wilma Jean Groce Eads, 83, of Union Cross Church Road passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 3, 2025. She was born June 20, 1941 in Yadkin County to the late Junior Wayne and Imogene Hobson Groce. Mrs. Eads retired with 42 ½ years of service from Hanes Hoisery and Sara Lee Corporation, and was a faithful member of Union Cross Friends Meeting. She loved traveling through the years, especially to different NASCAR races and tracks, where she was able to enjoy lots of experiences with drivers and crews in the Winners Circle and the pits. She was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family with whom she always enjoyed spending her time with each of them. She loved to work in her garden, canning her vegetables, cooking and baking for her family and friends, and feeding the cows. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Groce Brown. Surviving are her beloved husband, of 66 years, whom she married on December 20, 1958, R.L. Eads, of the home; her daughter and son-in-law, Angie Eads Adams and husband, Mark; grandchildren, Chad Adams and wife, Merritt, Kayla Adams McBane and husband, Lewis; great-grandchildren, Rayleigh and Anderson McBane; her sister, Doris Burnett and husband, Al; brother, Johnny Groce and wife, Sissy; brother-in-law, Roy Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. The family received friends from 1-3 PM Friday, June 6 , at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville. Her funeral service followed the visitation at 3 PM Friday, June 6, in the Gentry Family Chapel by Rev. Nelson Puffenbarger and Mark Adams. Interment followed in the Union Cross Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice for their loving care given to Mrs. Eads. Flowers will be accepted or Memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 516 Hawthorne Drive, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Online condolences may be made to www.gentryfuneralservice.com.
