Alice Cliver Bremer

DOVER Alice Cliver Bremer, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2008, at Providence Place in Dover. She was born in Montclair, N.J., and was the daughter of LeRoy and Anna Bennett. She had lived in Wayne, N.J., for many years before relocating to Clarks Summit in 1973 until March of 2008. Alice had been a member of the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Abington Woman's Club and the Ladies Golf Organization of the Scranton Canoe Club. Mrs. Bremer is survived by two stepsons, Craig Bremer and his wife, Pamela of York, and Richard Bremer and his wife, Paulette of Houston, Texas; her daughter-in-law, Sylvia Cliver of Virginia Beach, Va.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Samuel Cliver, II and John E. Bremer; her son, Samuel Cliver, III; two brothers; and two sisters. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 27, at 11 a.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Home, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. James S. Crawford officiating. www.etzweiler.com
