Barry D. Gordon

De Mossville, KY - Barry D Gordon, 76, formerly of Airville, passed away on Friday, May 25, 2018. Born in Red Lion, June 11, 1942, to the late Genevieve and Harold Gordon. Harold suffered fatal service-related injuries during World War II when Barry was an infant. His mother later married Henry "Clay" Ingram who Barry knew as his father. He later lived with his grandparents Edna (Krow) and Paul Druck and attended Lower Chanceford and Red Lion High School.

Barry honorably served in the United States Army 1964-1967. Later he worked as a steamfitter, Local Union 602. Barry was an avid outdoorsman being one of the first people to travel the entire length of the Zekiah Swamp. He was also an entrepreneur, having started and operated a range of businesses from a restaurant to a quarter horse farm. Recently, Barry spent most of his free time at home enjoying wood working and carving. He was still canning food as his grandmother had taught him.

Barry is survived by his son, Christopher H. Gordon and his wife, Brewer K. Thompson, son, Michael D. Gordon; grandsons, Horatio H. and Hadrian T. Thompson-Gordon; and many other family members and friends.

In memory of Barry, who was very proud of his Indian heritage, a Celebration of Life will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Indian Steps Museum, 205 Indian Steps Rd, Airville, PA 17302.
