The hardest thing in life is losing someone:

To his family, I am sorry for your loss; there is nothing that can be said or done to ease the pain, but as time passes it will hopefully become easier to focus on his life. While we have never met, I know Brian well enough to know that family means everything. Let us know what we can do for you during this time of loss.

To his friends, do not let his memory fade; use his life as an inspiration. Put family first, listen to friends when they are in need, and most importantly do not take life for granted.

They say; time heals all wounds. Some wounds never heal; there is forever a scar to remind you of the injury. You can only hope there is such a reminder when you lose a friend. Hoping there will be a permanent impression so you never forget, the good times, the bad times, the friend and colleague. Brian’s memory will be with us always because of the impression he made in our lives. He enjoyed life, he loved life, family, and friends, and he would always be the rock for whoever needed support. It is difficult, I would have to say impossible, to find the good that could come out of such a loss. Not to question faith, but there are so few good people in this world that to lose one at such a young age is nothing less than tragic. But I do not want the tragedy to outweigh the positive that Brian brought into this world. He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a soldier, a hero, and to me, a friend. Anyone one of us can find numerous positive stories of how he made life better.

Brian, you are a true friend and a true patriot. There are so many things I would like to tell you, but they will have to wait until we meet again. You always gave 100%, and anyone who has faith knows you will be that guardian angel, watching after friends and family.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.

When John Lennon was in school a teacher asked his class what they wanted to be when they grew up. Most said a fireman or an astronaut, but Lennon said he just wanted to be happy. His teacher told him he didn't understand the assignment and Lennon said you don't understand life. Brian told me this story many times and it never got old. I know all he wanted was to be happy and from what I saw he achieved that goal. I'll keep playing the good music for you. Rest easy.
