Brian Widmayer Obituary

Brian C. Widmayer

Dover - Brian C. Widmayer, 34, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at UPMC-Memorial Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Tribute will be held between 2-6PM, Saturday March 6, 2021 at Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department, 3700-1 Davidsburg Rd, Dover. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements.

Born January 31, 1987 in York, he was a son of Dale E. and Susan D. (Jones) Widmayer of Dover. He was a 2005 graduate of Dover Area High School.

He operated a small car dealership--Top One Sales Inc., located in Dover and was also active in real estate with Cash Now.

Brian was a vital part of the Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department. He joined the fire department in 2006 and quickly became an irreplaceable asset. He served as Fire Captain through Fire Chief and held various seats on the administrative board. Chief Widmayer took great pride in Station 9 and his service to the fire department. Brian was also an avid community servant; he was dedicated to supporting community causes and promoting local business.

He loved the adventure that came with traveling and was always up for a road trip. Recently he spent a lot of time customizing his Slingshot and would be riding every opportunity he got. Brian was a true people person, he loved being around and hanging out with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by three brothers, Ben Allison and wife, Michele of York, Thomas Allison and fiancée, Tiffany Wolf of Dover, and Chad Allison and wife, Jessica, of Dover; one sister, Robin Weaver and husband, Chris of York; his firehouse dog, Bristol; nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, his fire family and many-many friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, one maternal uncle and two paternal uncles.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dover Township Volunteer Fire Department, 3700-1 Davidsburg Rd, Dover, Pa 17315.

We are giving thanks and miss our good neighbor, Brian. Brian, was always helping his neighbors. When my 80 year old aunt needed a car, my mother suggested Brian. He went out of his way to help her and treat her fairly. When Mother was killed by trump's covid and I was stranded for four months in a pandemic, walking hours for groceries, I thought of Brian. He went out of his way to help me and my 80 year old father. Result: I did not have to walk for groceries this winter and could deliver to my father. God sends us angels to meet the needs of His children. James 2:16- He was there for us when we needed help and helped us with what we needed. Our prayers and gratitude are with his family. Our community will miss Brian- there is no greater tribute to the value of a man's life. Prayers for safety for his colleagues with the Dover Fire Department. What greater love than to give up your life for a brother? Thank You all.
