Carl Rutter Obituary

Carl C. Rutter, 76, died Friday, January 5, 2007, at 6:17 p.m. at Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Nancy A. (Jennings) Rutter, who died September 12, 1994 and the com panion of Norma McClure. There will be a viewing Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at WorkingerSemmel Funeral Home and Crematorium, Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Cremation will follow. There will be a graveside service Thursday, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Rose Cemetery. A procession will form at the main entrance to the cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Richard B. Starr, pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Starview. Mr. Rutter was born May 30, 1930 in Abbottstown. He was a son of the late Lawrence T. and Florence (Mummert) Rutter. Mr. Rutter was the former owner/operator for 15 years of Rutter's Atlantic AM/PM Mini-Market, located on N. Sherman St. He was a member of Twelfth Ward Independent Democratic Club; Viking and Victory Athletic Associations; Hawks Gunning Club; Pleasureville American Legion Post # 799 and Kreutz Creek Valley V.F.W. Post # 7045. Survivors include two sons, Carl C. Rutter, Jr. and his wife Pamela of York, Christopher A. Rutter and his wife Pamela of Hellam; one daughter, Ginny L. Huntsberry and her husband Wayne of Dover; six grandchildren, Ashley, Vanessa, Alicia, Lindsay, Cody and Robin; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Zayas and Xavier; two sisters, Florence Gladfelter of York and Shirley Kunkle of New York, N.Y. and one brother, Lawrence T. Rutter, Jr. of York. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Gerry Goodwin and Mary J. Hoover and a brother, George Rutter. Uncle Carl alway had a smile on his face, When I would see him. I remember when my dad use to take us to aunt Nancy & Carl house. We never wanted to leave.He will be miss & He will always be remember.
Carl ,Chris & Ginny your dad went to heaven to be with your mother.
I guess he is already up there playing cards with our family member. I know he is with my dad,
Someday we will all be going to Heaven. And then we will be one big happy family like we used to be.Uncle Carl will always be in my heart.
